Here are release notes on the latest updates in the Viima's app:

1) Setting weights for different evaluation criteria

  • When setting up the evaluation feature on your board, you may now adjust the individual weight for each given evaluation criterion or "metric". These weights are used when calculating Viima score, which is the overall score of the idea that can be viewed, for example, in the evaluation dashboard.

  • The higher the weight you give to a metric, the more impact it has on Viima score. This helps in calculating a more “accurate” Viima score based on your preferences. For example, if you have a category where you collect ideas for generating new revenue, you may want to give a higher weight to a metric that measures "amount of generated revenue" than a metric that measures "time to implement", although both are important.

  • The weight can be adjusted for both a new metric and an existing one. This can be done from the admin portal of your board. (This guide will show you how in more detail).

  • When you set the weight of a metric to be higher than 1, it will be calculated multiple times in the Viima score in relation to other metrics. For example, if you have two metrics with one's weight being 1 and the other's 2, then respectively the impacts on the calculated Viima score would be 1/3 and 2/3. If you wish to gather data with a metric, (for example "overall feel of the idea") but do not wish to regard it in the Viima score at all, you can set the weight to 0.

2) Sharing ideas to Microsoft Teams

  • If you or your organization is using Ms-Teams (to which a Viima board can easily be added), you can now also share ideas directly there regardless of what device or platform you used to access your Viima board. This helps you get a wider reach for the idea.

  • After opening an idea, simply hover your mouse over the "Share" icon and click the Ms-Teams logo. This will open a pop-up window from where you can choose the Team or Channel on which you wish to share the idea.
